One always digs Union 3 ringers and such, including myself. Not everyday that a BEAUTIFUL Confederate Gardner comes out the ground along with an Enfield round. I love digging Confederate relics!!!! Of course,
Battle of Nashville items if interested as to where, when etc...before and after cleaning photos for your viewing pleasure.

Nice to find them in dropped condition.

wow pretty exciting !!! so glad you do this and that you share your pictures with us. So is it a big no no when you find one and clean it or not? or does it make any differents?

With bullets it's not a "NO NO"to clean. Other relics, well it depends on what it is. The main rule is not to over clean!!
I do keep some bullets as they come out of the ground for display effect. My artillery shells I clean..otherwise it's just a pc of rusty iron..they look better cleaned up. If its a fragile button..I would not clean or have a professional do what they can.
Anyway, glad you like them, I love doing it.
