Wondering if anyone knows specifically (I'll take best guesses) of the color-scheme of the Macon. Black hull with some white on trim/bulwarks? Gray? Lead gray? Anything common to the Savannah river vessels? Thanks.

I would paint her hull medium grey, with white top and interior bulwarks, black or grey stack. I'm not rally sure about masts, some form of timber colour at a guess.
Incidentally there are some mods to that list of colours. CSS Louisiana was painted white, so it seems logical that CSS Mississippi and the Yazoo Monster would have been the same.
It also appears that Albemarle was pine green.
The Charleston squadron started out very pale blue grey, but from 1863 /4 should be painted as per Conrad wise Chapmans Painting.
