Tell me more! Coast Artillery ?

Given the weight of coastal artillery how did they get them into position from foundry to a fortress gun position. Where they disassembled then reassembled at the firing position.
 
Probably put them there them selves and got them from a arsenal near by. They had horses they could have pulled them with to as well to put them into the final positions in the forts.

A 20"er, the didn't come any larger and the 2 that still exist were placed to protect New York Harbor and that's where they remain today. The guns were mounted at their sites through the use of large "A" frame cranes.
