I have to brag about my daughter for just a bit. She is raising two pigs this year. One for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and the other for the District show, which was last Wednesday. She did very well and placed high enough to make the auction. Her pig Charlemagne sold last night for $3300.00. Not bad for a $300 investment. After taking out cost of feed and bedding she still turned a profit. I will say though, pig raising is tough to do on a small scale. I can't imagine a huge farm of hundreds or thousands.
