Recently while looking through some old photo albums I found several I'd forgotten from a mini-vacation sometime in the mid-1990's to Northwest Arkansas. Although they don't show any individuals, I thought the one above would be a good subject for this week's Throwback Thursday, since it also happens to be the anniversary of of the second and final day of the Battle of Pea Ridge where this was taken. The NPS reconstruction of Elkhorn Tavern is seen in the background of a section of Napoleons representing a Confederate battery on the morning of the second day. Although it's not exactly a proper then-and-now photo the one below was taken almost twenty years earlier during a living history event there. For the other photos from this set, please see: https://civilwartalk.com/threads/return-to-pea-ridge.99660/page-2#post-1768309 - for more of the living history: https://civilwartalk.com/threads/living-history-at-pea-ridge-nmp-march-1978.122069/
