Hello Everyone,
After 25 years in the hobby, I have become too ill to camp and participate in living history. I was a re-enactress in Southern Caifornia and belonged to many fine groups over the years, plus I am a period seamstress and milliner. I have a sizeable amount of period correct headwear and a couple of other items including an original period nightgown, two handbags, 3 fishus, two shawls (no room to list it all) and am looking to downsize my things as I am now only sewing for other re-enactresses. I have too much to post photographs, but will send them on request. I would like to sell it all as a group if possible and see it go to a unit of ladies who can use it. All of it is in pristine condition and all are very nice pieces:
5 bonnets:
1 black straw mourning (molded form, not a remade straw hat)
1 black buckram and wire mourning bonnet with crepe trim (ORIGINAL still in wearable condition)
1 gray buck and wire frame bonnet with vintage ribbon and ostrich tip decoration
1 tan straw with blue and green vintage ribbon decoration (molded form, not a remade straw hat fashioned after a bonnet in the Met Museum in NYC)
1 yellow silk charmeuse Fanchon bonnet, lined, decorated with vintage ribbon and millinery pears
1 summer or garden hat of vintage white fabric with scattered green and peach teeny floral design, trimmed in green ribbon and green tie strings
2 padded winter hoods
1 gray taffeta with black floral scattered design lightly quilted, black lining tie strings and looped ribbon design around face
1 yellow, tan, light gray large plaid, quilted on the inside, vintage brown ribbon decoration and tie strings, vintage gold braid around face fold-back
1 bustle era black oval hat - ORIGINAL - slanted crown, black velvet replaced on crown, original book muslin lining intact and in great condition, black ostrich feather and vintage 19th C beaded decoration and black ribbon on one side
Asking $250 plus shipping for the whole lot
