I came across this website this morning and thought it might be of interest here. On a search, I found that content from it had been linked in various posts but no post about the website itself. This website appears to be chock full of information (390 pages) on all aspects of Civil War medicine. It also provides links to other sources of information. They have a small listing of Civil War medicine books, most of which are well known. There is an alphabetized list of categories to help you find what you are looking for in particular (or to help you keep track of what you've already explored if you want to do it all systematically).

Here is direct YouTube access to the short videos Civil War Rx has posted on that platform. They're easier to watch (that is, larger screen size) here than on the Civil War Medicine website itself.

I have read that the physician moving with an army was keenly aware of the flora and fauna of the area they were in, along with the weather. When doing research on CW battles, check the physician's notes in regards to what plants were used and how they were used (soups, poultices, teas, in mixtures with other tinctures, etc) will give you info on what was being treated. From this you can gain insight into the type of landscape they were in. If there are questions regarding the weather and it's effect on the soldiers, the physician's notes are most helpful.
