Yes Dave Sullivan does a good job. He has done several article on Civil War Marines for the Company of Military Historian Journal.

The book has almost 500 photographs and images. Very good photograph of most uniforms and equipment with marine uniforms and marine swords being very well illustrated. Marine firearms are the only item not well covered by photographs. Where else will you find a color photo of a Marine Corps drum?
