I have a good number of troop movement maps like the ones in the picture below. I am looking for similar sets for Vicksburg and Chickamauga/Chattanooga. Does anyone have some good helpful hints for searching for these maps?

In one of the corners should be the mapmaker and printers' information.

Share.
I know those in the picture were made for eParks by Eastern National. I got them at the Fredericksburg book/gift shop. I can't find a set for either Vicksburg or Chickamauga on their website. I was hoping someone would have an idea where to look. I've been through eBay and NPS. I'm just hoping somewhere out there someone has a set or two they want to sell.

You're saying there's no printers information on them?
I'll have to get 'em back out and look. They don't have title blocks. Eastern National Publishing did the maps I got at Fredericksburg. The Cold Harbor map set was made for NPS by Ed Bearss. So was Stones River. 2nd Manassas, Shiloh and Gettysburg I'm not sure.

Jim,in all honesty Dave Powell's book "The Maps of Chickamauga' basically covers the troop moves for every 15-30 minutes.not the grand picture but the local area of the fight.off the top of my head IIRC there are about 140 maps plus there are two pages describing what is happening on the map.

Powell's maps are very mediocre and too small. The first map in the volume we are reading is almost useless. I have the giant atlas that is the companion to the OR and one by Steve Woodworth. They will suffice for now. I just want to complete my map archive. The big OR atlas is fine for all the small battles and I have all the eastern theater's big battles covered. I just need a couple campaigns to fill out my archive. There's no mad rush.

I have the large atlas also, there is a lot of cool stuff in that big volume.

Just like your 100 lb. lapdogs, Mitch.
There is a big difference, kit has the softess. Coat of any dog like mink fur so when she becomes a lap dog she is better then a comforter if you can handle the weight.in the cold months here she keeps you very warm.I am sitting at the table right now and she is on my feet.love this member of the family.

Didn't see maps in the left page Categories section, but entered "maps" in the search box and brought up 9-10 links.

Hmm, tried creating account but the link threw an access denied message. Same went for clicking on the comments link.

You can also bring up issuu.com and enter "american civil war fortifications". Lots of great magazines, books to peruse online. World history stuff also shows up that looks worth reading.
