Not new to CW Reenacting, but new to this site. I have been in the field in some manner since 1984. I lived in MD for many years and reenacted some of the larger anniversary events in the east. CSA Cavalry, CSA Artillery, CSA soldier, CSA Post Master, Yankee Artillery, Yankee soldier, yankee cavalry, I have covered a lot of areas over the years. Most recently thought of trying US Signal Corps. There isnt much going on in eastern Idaho, but I have kept the gear and still would like to participate in an event. I had even thought of doing (sponsoring and organizing) an event in an old western (1865) western town (mock up) here in eastern Idaho to gather some attention to CW. But it is in my blood and I love the history and campaigning of the CW. I am sure I will enjoy the forums and reading the material out here.

You might want to contact the Washington Civil War Association http://www.wcwa.net/members/signup.html. They have a strong presence in eastern Washington, with reenactments in the Spokane area, and should know what's going on in Idaho.

I did some online searching and found a group in Boise called the Idaho Civil War Volunteers. I couldn't find anything except a Facebook page, and I'm not on Facebook, so for me that was a dead end.

Kit: Have you ever been to the Bear River battlefield ?

I'm driving out west (from Michigan) for about a month and was planning on looking for it toward the end of the month.
