Commemorate the 150th anniversaries of the Civil War and the end of American slavery
As the former capital of the Confederacy and the hub of the country's slave trade, Richmond offers an abundance of Civil War and Emancipation experiences that allow us to encounter our past and better understand our shared history.
During this year's Civil War & Emancipation Day, participants are invited to participate in a variety of daylong special events with free admission to numerous historic and cultural sites and activity centers, with free transportation between the attractions.
