Hello all....
I kinda fell off the map for a while but I'm back up and running now. Just wondering what you are asking from SANTA this year. As always books, books,and more books is what I say LOL.

Glad you fell back into the map. You have been missed.

I haven't really a list of wants that are reasonable. The Army and Marine Corps won't let me 'borrow' their command and have the troops 're-enact' with numbers, the same ordnance and artillery as there was at First Bull Run/Manassas. Putting the numbers on the field would be an impressive site and get more accurate visual impact beyond the official reports.

Wouldn't mind doing that at Gettysburg either... all those troops and re-enact in strength. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh well.

I've bought my "Christmas Gifts." I bought a Pelikan fountain pen; model M320 with a customized nib so I can write Spencerian hand (Civil War era handwriting). I do have some vintage Waterman fountain pens with flexible nibs (circa 1910-1930) that I want to send off for restoration after Christmas. They are in poor physical shape except the nibs and want to put them back in service.

Being single and no kids, unless an elderly parent counts --I have to buy my own gifts.

I've received one book on the Washington & Old Dominion Railroad, as a thank you gift for contributed pictures from my father's photograph collection. In the next print, with added pictures from Dad's collection, will come after its reprinted.

Has to be good, judging from your excellent posts.

I should finish up my report on the Marines at Bull Run myself. Making the maps is the last thing to do and it will be ready to type up and tie it up.

IF the Commandant would ever turn over the Corps... I think he wouldn't let me have it long.

I be walking the Marines to Manassas Battle Field and up 7th Street, NW to Ft. Stevens where the Marines saved Washington's beehind, along with invalids, quarter-master clerks, war department clerks and citizens that could carry anything; until the army could assemble. Batteries were there but, didn't have much troop coverage.

I'll want you to be on my staff if the Commandant gave me his Corps. Have several on this forum in mind for staff... [grins]...

Ah....dreams. LOL I'll have to ask him if I can borrow them or invite him to bring the Corps with him while he takes a drive with me. I can just picture him laughing his head off privately and it would be scary if he gave me the stars and say--here! LOL

Just some nice thoughts and thank you 1st Sergeant Pinckney for being ready to take up the rifle.

When I was a teenager, I always asked Santa for a 16 year old "looker." Never got her.
Now that I am YEARS beyond that, I always ask for the Rose Farm at Gettysburg. He said it'll take more than one glass of lukewarm milk and some stale homemade cookies to get that! Any of you guys think some Jack Daniels or Southern Comfort would do the trick? How about that stuff called Southern Yell? Think that would do it?
