With Valentine Day near thought post this old recipe for sweets from Mrs. Beeton's Cookery Book, 1861.
Almonds, blanched and dried
Chocolate
Vanilla Essence
Dissolve the chocolate in the smallest quantity of hot water. Florour to taste with vanilla essence. Dip each almond in separately and place them on oiled slab or plates to set.
