Chessatee Light Artillery

The Chestatee Light Artillery, organized in 1861, served on the Georgia/South Carolina coast.

In mid-1864 it was reorganized as an infantry company with the 38th Georgia Volunteers, and transferred to General Lee's Army of Northern Virginia (a year after Gettysburg).

There is a two volume history of the unit during the war.

Vol. I.

Vol. II.
