View yesterday morning from Rickett's Battery on Cemetery Hill.

@JimN, that's a fine shot looking East, (if not aware) over the ground Col. Avery's (Hoke's) NC brigade crossed attacking right into that cannon the evening of July 2nd. Culps Hill's northern flank is seen just to the right of the tree with Steven's Knoll 500-yards to the right, at 2 o'clock. The mortally wounded Col. Avery penned a note to his father somewhere in the distance fields. Very beautiful.
