Cemetery Hill in Summer

Cemetery Hill in Summer was taken on July 15, 2014 on East Cemetery Hill, Gettysburg around 8am. The equestrian statue is of Major General Oliver Howard, who was engaged in fighting on the hill on July 1st. I applied some filters to the photograph including a canvas background and layer of antiquing using Photo Toaster.

Downslope is a surprisingly quiet & tranquil area considering it is so near to the noise & activity of the town.

Lovely photo! I think this is near where my relative died (I believe they were in position to the left of this hill and in front of Ziegler's grove on July 3rd).
