Hey y'all,

Looks like the leaves are changing in the Blue Ridge… can it be that time of year again? Cedar Creek Virginia (October 21-22) and then Halloween!

Looks like I am going to make it there this year with kinfolk. I got both my uniforms and so even with transportation issues - where there's a Will there's a way.

So this will serve as the final call! Safety first as always and maintain your normal vigilance when you come down. The guy was sentenced to nine years. It's not a game!

Hope to see you walking around! I am looking for a home unit for another stint.

Happy trails to Cedar Creek,

I will be there as a spectator on Saturday. I will be hiking through the camps looking for you! I will be set up in those folding chairs along the crowd line roughly across from the little white Heater house. I will post what I am wearing closer to the event. I will probably be wearing jeans and my gray CivilWarTalk Muster tee-shirt...but if it's windy and cool like it usually is, I will have a jacket on over it.

So, post what uniform you will be wearing closer to the event. I will post what I am wearing and will be looking for you and any other members!

I'll be at Cedar Creek on Saturday and Sunday as a spectator. Depending on the weather I'll most likely be wearing my grey CivilWarTalk hoodie.
Katie and I will look for you there on Saturday. We will set up chairs along the crowd line somewhere across from the little white house known as "the Heater House" for the family that owned it. That is generally "show center" for the afternoon battle reenactment. Possible morning rain but I hope it goes away quickly!

Alas as old age and inflation comes, things go north and south sometimes at the same time. So no Cedar Creek for me. Such is my disappointment traveling into these times that I have indeed decided to Re-up for another three years. Good Lord willing and the creek don't rise.

I certainly understand. I was looking forward to meeting you, alas, possibly another time and place. You take care!

Okay Thanks or I could blame it on the *****. My Alesian girly girl is one this weekend! I can barely leave her. \o/

Just to let everyone know. Katie and I will be at the Cedar Creek reenactment tomorrow. I will be wearing blue jeans and my gray 2023 CWT Muster shirt. I will probably have a red plaid jacket on as well. I will be wearing a baseball style tan Civil War Trust cap and Katie will be wearing her blue Shenandoah Valley Battlefields Foundation cap. I will also be wearing my CWT muster ID tag around my neck. Our plan is to set up on the spectator show line essentially in front of the little white "Heater" family house. Usually I am about halfway between the end of the line and the sutlers camp...but a bit closer to the Heater house if possible. Our chairs are greenish.

We do intend to tour the camps, so I will keep and eye out for @luinrina and any other members. I do have some friends in a Union artillery unit coming and my cousins sometimes come as well. I will try to save enough space on the line that we can all sit together for the battle. I also hope to do the candlelight tour of the camps? We shall see. I don't even know if they still do that. I am really looking forward to the event! A warm-up for next years 160th!!!

Lew

PS... Well, I do intend on visiting the sutlers...I would love to find the right slouch hat to honor my Confederate Cavalry GG grandfather! A Laurel Brigade patch would be nice...especially since I just got to hold Turner Ashby's sword at his gravesite....hummm....the right jacket would be nice as well...geesh....I don't know what I will end up wearing!!! LMAO....

I also hope to do the candlelight tour of the camps?
I was planning on doing that too. It's at least offered on the website last time I checked.

Wearing the muster ID tag is a great idea. I'll pack mine as well. I'll be wearing either my CivilWarTalk hoodie or a blue T-shirt, black cap with a butterfly and jeans.

I'll be touring the camps as well, hoping to reconnect with @captaindrew who should be in the CSA camps somewhere.

Looking forward to seeing you again tomorrow!

I'm here, we're in the first few rows nearest the road in the CS camp, we're the only ones with shelter halves (dog tents)
