Cedar Creek/Confederate Command?

lately I have heard some rumbling about issues with the Cedar Creek event and Confederate Command. Any of my Grey friends have any info on it?
I have some battery members wanting to pull out of the event due to what they are hearing as they are concerned about traveling the distance for an event that may end up with poor turnout. I'm trying to find out as much as I can so we can make a decision. If there were issues, it would not surprise me as there were issues early on with the Federal Artillery command ( but they were resolved).

Hopefully I'll see you this year I'll be set up in the big tent again with a vendor table most likely.

From what I heard, the person who was supposed to lead the confederate side was replaced and as a result a lot of units in his umbrella organization aren't going to attend. I believe the Umbrella organization is PACS. Im not sure how big or small they are compared to ANV or other groups.

ANV and Longstreet's are the big ones as far as numbers go

Cedar Creek…Wow…cold nights and nice days with no wind at the 160. We died on the 2nd day with a well placed Union canister shot. Felt nice and warm under the caisson. Typical Longstreet plan FUBAR!

Yeah? But it can't be as bad as when the Union advances towards your position we want you to limber up and manhandle your piece towards the spectator line …you will have to navigate the rocky terrain and move uphill. WTF? Hitch up move uphill unlimber and be ready to shoot. So close I could kiss the ambulance crew watching us. 10 minutes later … strike that … you will proceed and assist the Battey to your left limber up move uphill towards the rope line and be prepared to fire. WTF? I thought again. None of these "changes" to the original "scenario" survived the heat of battle. We got down to three rounds in the box and I told our gunner. Next thing I know they are flailing and falling to the ground. And so I played along but again WTF? No word to the box monkey. This was a classic Longstreet FUBAR! And so in the end I was left to ponder …Bueller?

Actually that's not fair as I think it is actually in the general domain of Alexander (Artillery) Battalion. Specifically the Chief of Artillery with the concurrence of the Battalion Safety Officer. But it is still Longstreet …

You Union boys were too eager to finish us off and hit the road to go home. We had one round to go and two for a ceremonial salute at the end. That never happened. Nice huh? And for the 160…Ferris?
