Although the reenactment of the Battle of Cedar Creek has been cancelled, the National Park Service and Belle Grove Plantation will hold their usual programs commemorating the Battle of Cedar Creek on October 19-21.
National Park Service Rangers will present talks and tours, the Belle Grove mansion will be open for touring, the 10 Virginia Volunteer Infantry will have a living history encampment, Jim Tole will play Civil War music (Sunday only).
The CWDF Ordnance Detachment will display original Civil War weapons and reproduction flags. There will be examples of pre-war arms, imported weapons, the U.S. Rifle Musket series, various breechloaders, handguns, and edged weapons. All will be available for close examination and even light handling – a rare opportunity to touch a piece of American history.
