I've had this photo in my collection for many years.

His extensive estate (medal of honor, GAR medals, newspaper articles, photos, etc.) was offered for sale in Germany in 2012 for €14,000. However, it was never sold! Shortly after the auction, the then owner died, and as I learned, the heirs subsequently fought over the estate. I can't say what happened to this estate later; it never resurfaced in the collector world.

I still have the 2012 auction catalog with pictures, but unfortunately, I'm not allowed to show it.

Union naval seaman John Henry Dorman received the MoH for his courageous actions serving aboard the USS Carondelet during the Battle of Fort Henry and the Siege of Vicksburg.
