I fell in love with the Civil War at the very tender age of five during a family vacation to Gettysburg. Wherein I sat on cannons, stood in Spangler's Spring and on the rocks of Devil's Den. My father imparted all his awesome tales of the battle he received as a boy from his beloved grandfather who knew veterans of the ACW.
My current interest lies on the home front with the women and children that were left behind. The stories of women rising to the occasion and stepping out of their spheres as mothers and wives is what I find most interesting. Not to say I don't enjoy a battle or a book about medical care during the war since so many of the ladies were involved in nursing.
I'm a legal secretary at an international law firm by day and a tortured wannabe published author at night and on weekends. My interests other than the ACW include cooking, baking, ancestry research and reading along with binge watching Netflix.
