Good morning and thank all of y'all for responding about this piece which went along with my suspicions as being well used and a repro. I'll do the Ebay thing and hope to get my $$ back as I didn't pay much for the group that this came with, but with y'all's guidance my description will be accurate. I will keep visiting CWT now that I have found it. My 90 year old father lives in Wilmington, NC on the Cape Fear across from Orton. One of the former owner's of Shirley Plantation, Robert Randolph Carter, was a blockade runner down there according to a chat I had years ago with Hill Carter during my snack shop days and from further research online. I have imagined a successful run up the Cape Fear from Dad's back deck and the elation that followed as they made it up to the docks and wharf of Wilmington City proper. During the past Father's Day weekend I finally went to the Joseph Ryder Lewis Jr. Civil War Park in Carolina Beach. A small area that has some earthworks remaining and some history info plaques. Not much to see, but a nice place to take a walk with others and/or a dog. It does need some attention as there is some weathering of the plaques. It was considered a back up defense if Fort Fisher fell. And speaking of Fort Fisher, I have visited there twice. Once, with a family group, which at a place like this, is like herding cats and mice at the same time, and another time I spent the afternoon there by myself and still didn't get it all in. As it is now remodeling and should soon be ready for visitors, I hope to visit again in December during Dad's birthday weekend. Again, thanks so much for helping me out! And feel free to touch base if you desire.
Cheers!
