I Googled it to see what it was after reading Lelliot's post, and at that point clicked the google video option like Allie did for pictures. The first video I saw was a cow with one the size of a small human on its leg and it was being lanced into a 5 gallon bucket. I'm not ashamed. I almost hurled, lol. Humility before honor you know hah..

Hahaa, now I know what you meant. Yes, that was ... something. But I could stand it. Hah, maybe I really would have been a good nurse ...

See, that doesn't bother me, I was a large animal vet's assistant one summer in school. Consists largely of holding cows and horses while the vet does unspeakable things to them. Not to mention that I've had to drain and rinse quarts of pus from my mom's horse daily while doing follow up care after the vet drained an abscess caused by a vaccination site that got infected. Large animals are capable of manufacturing astounding amounts of pus - her horse wasn't even particularly off-color, apart from the gallons of pus you wouldn't have known anything was wrong!

But for some reason, seeing photos of some young teenage girl with a gaping hole in the back of her neck, blech.

You are all guilty of having excessively strong constitutions!
I have dealt with these on cattle but never to the degree described and could barely stand it then.....time to call the vet!

Gack! Yack! And now I've got to not eat for a while!
And I NEVER click any video link to anything containing "carbuncle". Whew! We all got our weakness I guess.(Me that is)

Great.....I've been fighting a carbuncle for nearly TWO years (sometimes it diminishes, sometimes it does things I won't mention) AND I am diabetic!!......I guess I better get my Will in order!!

Nah.....Miller Huggins died in 1929. That was well before the invention of anti-staphylococcus antibiotics. This is 2015....they got all kinds of powerful antibiotics now days.

I have a couple of "pickers" in my family. Got to "pick" at anything on their bodies. One is a little paranoid. I am not going to tell him about carbuncles.

But.why?? I just said I could watch these things! I have not dealt with them in reality with the exception of a furuncle when I was a small kid and that was where I could not see it myself, if you know what I mean. Who knows if I could have done what others, much more brave members than me have done?

Albert, only if applied outwardly, LOL!
