I was reading On Many A Bloody Field by Alan D. Gaff, and he mentioned the 19th Indiana's stay at Camp Kalorama. Camp Kalorama was built around Kalorama Manor outside of Washington. Does anyone know the original location of the manor and camp? The manor was reportedly wrecked during the army's stay.

Here's an article on the Kalorama Manor.
This subject intrigues me - a like long DC resident. The name Kalorama is associated with a neighborhood today that apparently is not where Canp Kalorama was.
FYI Washington City duringbthe War was smaller than the current District of Columbia with Boundary Street (currently Florida Ave) being the boundary between Washington City and Washington County.

I lived on Arlington Ridge a few years early in my working career and the present Kalorama immediately jumped to mind when I read the title of the thread. I had no idea there was a Camp Kalorama much less where it was . Following this thread closely. Thanks for posting @CloneTrooperPhoenix. And thanks for the informative link @David Moore

The location is in present day Kalorama but in the part dominated by diplomatic buildings today not up by the Taft Bridge. There evidently was also a Kalorama hospital in present day Alexandria Virginia. https://www.alexandriava.gov/historic-sites/kalorama-hospital
