Here is a great example of how developers and Civil War archaeologists can cooperate to research and preserve our precious heritage. This project is of particular interest to me as my ancestor Adj. William B. Phillips, who was captured at the Crater spent the final 3 months of his 7 month imprisonment at Camp Asylum.

good post but it is very said they only have so much time to dig. after all the years that have passed now there on a time line. It must be very hard on the people who are working on it.
