Sorry! New to the forum, and I sort of goofed up on posting this one. I pushed a wrong button and it got posted before I was ready. The attached is another example of an image by wetplate photographer John Coffer. This is an albumen print Carte de Visite. The card is letter pressed. The alubumen came from John's own chickens. The back of the image also has a revenue tax stamp on it. Very few (if any?) other photographers make carte de visites the authentic way, like John does. These images were incredibly popular during the war. This shows the back of the image.

Interesting, photog. did a good job, cdv has a genuine look. Strange uniform, though ... the epaulettes and medals don't look American at all. Are they?

BTW, if this happens again, just click the "edit" button, and add the second pic & anything else there.
