Butler and Jeff Davis

[General Butler]

Now Butler was put on the West Point Board by Davis and Butler pushed for Davis over 40 times during the Demo convention that ended without a candidate
Davis would declare Ben and outlaw to be hanged if caught...Davis raised the Black Flag over Butler.
BUT, in May of 1860 Ben had a dire need to speak directly to Davis while in DC
I wonder why?????
