I might have missed it, but where did this reenactment take place and what battle was this. Very nice pictures, though some may have been more realistic if they had been in black and white as were battle phots of that time. Not meaning to sound critical.

This was at Burton, Ohio. I am not sure we were portraying any specific battle, just a kind of generic North vs South thing. It's an event usually held in the spring but delayed this year because of rain and resecheduled to the same weekend as Hale Farm & Village's Reenactment. Since those two sites are near each other, and the Hale reenactment was canceled this year, I think the turn out was a little higher than expected.

Perhaps I will mess around with editing some of my better pictures from this trip. I find it hard to recreate that "old photo" look simply by taking photos in black and white... probably because our modern cameras produce much higher fidelity images, so everything seems too sharp.

@Western Reserve Volunteer a lot of editing software has a program to soften focus and some even have ability to do Sepia...
