Hello,
I'm actually making a new thread on my ggg-uncle, Ardol Bush, who was in the 2nd Minnesota Cavalry. I'm trying to find his burial place. I assume it'll be easy for one of you to find him, but he died in Minneapolis in 1936 and I think he is buried in Stearns County, probably in Sauk Centre, with his wife, Anna. Can anyone help?

Not sure if this helps but....

Josh, I would start by going to the cemetery you believe is most likely his burying place, and simply talking with or writing to the sexton there. Some of these cemeteries are privately owned, governed by boards of directors, and not too willing to give up their records, so you might strike out. But it is worth a try. Most are accustomed to people doing family research. I know this response sounds all-too-obvious, but I have used these tactics myself, with success. I think it is quite likely that you will eventually find the correct cemetery and also be given a plot map of the cemetery with your ancester's grave lot circled by the sexton. If that doesn't work, there is nothing quite so interesting as walking up and down lines of monuments on a sunny day. I am totally serious. I've had great luck that way, too. Best of luck to you in your search.
