Thank you so much @Package4 :cannon::cannon::cannon:
The package arrived today! Thank you very much for sharing these relics with a connection to the story. It was so thoughtful and generous of you and very much appreciated!

Nice. Tell us where they were dug. We've got some nice folks here. I treasure the minie balls @ucvrelics game me and us at Ringgold.
According to the nice note included inside the box, they were found on private property near Manassas Battlefield Park. He sent them to me because of the thread about Mollie Benson Dogan and the flag of the 11th AL. That was a fun thread. In case you missed it, here's the link

I did see it. I think I replied a couple times. I was reading a book about Second Manassas when you posted that.

When I first popped into this site, I mentioned that I was doing Living history, and wanted to have some interesting things for the 8th grade boys to look at..and you know, the grosser the better right? I was gifted several artifacts to show to my students, and my trunk show has grown from there. The guys love to hear about the subsonic speeds of the bullets, and how they travelled up the bone to wreck havoc..and I am still using those gifted items...I remember talking with the person who gifted me the items..such fun!

There's lots of private property both inside the battlefield and areas that border it. Your two artifacts could have come from any one of several locations. I'm sure it was disclosed to you where these items were found. You don't have to share that info with us.

Oh and by the way, I passed by the Dogan houses on Tuesday morning. They're doing all kinds of work on the big house. It needs a lot of TLC o' plenty. I'm not sure if they're just going to fix up the outside of the structure/replace the roof, or do something with the interior as well.
