Hello everyone! I am new to the forum and I'm trying to find out some information about a bullet I found. I'm not sure if it is civil war or that time period even, but it looks very similar. It was actually found at my grandparents old home site. It had worked it's way up I'm guessing as I found it on top of the ground at the base of a tree I was sitting against. I'm confused about a couple of the characteristics which makes me think it may not be that time period. The bottom has a small knob on it. It's not flat or hallow like others. Also, the tip has a large groove in it. This could be the design or, because it was on top of the ground, it may have been hit my a lawnmower or something.
It was not found at a battle site, just in a yard in northeast Arkansas. However confederate soldiers did live here before and after the war. I'm just looking to see if anyone could help me out. Thank you!

I don't think its a bullet. Could you post a clearer photo with some dimensions?

While you are waiting for an answer, welcome to the group from middle Alabama.

Welcome from the UK and from The First Bull Run/ Manassas Forum

Unfortunately I agree with the others in saying it is not a Civil War era bullet.

Thanks for the reply everyone! I tried to take some better pictures, but being so small none were any better than the originals. I appreciate you all taking the time to look at it and I agree (although it would be cool if it were otherwise) that it doesn't seem like a bullet. Thanks for the warm welcome and I really enjoy the site!
