Brown v Ellis

Some of you may remember me, if you're still alive. I was once quite active in researching Capt. Daniel Ellis, the East Tennessee pilot, with the intention of producing a book on his life. I saw myself mentioned or referred to in several posts. Real life pulled me away from my Dan Ellis work for some 10 years. Now, recently widowed and recently retired, I am coming up for air with the intention of completing my work. I am still looking for primary sources on Ellis, but I am particularly looking for documentation of Ellis being sued by Capt. Roby Brown for the way Brown was portrayed in Ellis' book, Thrilling Adventures of Daniel Ellis. This was mentioned in at least a couple of posts, and I have heard about it for many years, but I have never been able to find evidence. Can anyone help? Also, BTW, FYI, FWIW, etc., I will be giving a presentation on Capt. Ellis for the Knoxville Civil War Roundtable on June 13. Feel free to email me ([email protected]) for particulars, if interested. Many thanks!
