IMO, hardly a factor at all. But, if it does, I would think, if. it is a factor at all, that it would be most while confederate heritage supporters, who would most prefer it not to be discussed in the public square.

I don't know. Most likely the majority of Black Americans who are descendants of the enslaved in America.

I am assuming if one does have an confederate ancestor it's not because of love. So, I don't know if and why it would matter.

I am sure I do - but I don't look at them as my ancestor. I look at them as someone who enslaved and sexually violated my ancestor. That's nothing I would be proud of. Nor want to be reminded of by seeing a monument.

No slave owners no Michelle Obama. No slaves no Barack Obama via his white mother and John Punch one of the first slaves. Thank the good Lord for slave owners or the above two folks wouldn't be around. Just google Barack Obama ancestry.com John Punch. Just google Michele Obama ancestory .com. Her family and the Sheild family of Georgia even had a family reunion. No doubt Michelle Obama has Confederate soldier ancestors . A good chance she has USCT ancestors .
