Bipartisan Baptism?

I recall reading or hearing an account of Union (?) soldiers holding a baptism service at a creek- where they were met by opposition pickets, who joined in the service.

Has anyone else read this account? If not merely legend- would love to know some additional details. Any similar stories come to mind? Thanks….
