Would appreciate opinion on these binos. Man that sold them to me about a year ago claimed they are of CW period. Showed these pix to a so called expert out of Virginia recently, he says they were made in the 1920's.

Chevalier of Paris did make binoculars during the CW but these are way post CW late 1800's early 1900's.

What characteristics or markings would place year of manufacture to 1865 or earlier?

The eye pieces are the tell on these.
