Reading Imported Confederate Uniforms, by Frederick R. Adolphus (which is awesome BTW) and it got me thinking about which museums have best original uniforms on view?

Planning a trip (in my mind) back East to visit battlefields and any recommended museums. Would like to see both sides originals. Any recommendations?

Thanks!

The museum in Richmond has some nice Confederate uniforms.
@major bill is referring to the American Civil War Museum (what use to be called the Museum of the Confederacy).

Most major museums have websites were you can search their collections. This can help you decide where to want to go before heading east. Some museums have visual tours on YouTube. Do a forum search and you should come up with some interesting posts.

I haven't been to all museums. The Museum Of The Confederacy in Richmond and Appomattox are really good. Confederate Memorial Hall in New Orleans and the Texas Civil War Museum in Fort Worth are good too.

Thank you everyone!

Curious if anyone has seen the Civil War flag collection in Harrisburg PA. I saw a blog post on it, and it looks pretty cool.

I was impressed with the Confederate uniforms at the American Civil War Museum at Appomattox. It is located down the road from the National Park. It was a bit costly at $12 per adult but zi thought it worth the cost.
