Best Springfield Sling

What would yall consider as the current best, most accurate source for an M1842 leather sling?

MB&S is always my first go to for leather but I did a check before posting and only saw a CS canvas sling listed. Maybe would be worth a call and ask.

Agreed, MB&S is great and who I trust for leather, but I had never seen a sling for sale on his Site. I will look again though.

I will check Dell and LD Hanning also.

I just looked again on the MB&S website, I didn't see a leather sling, but I actually may consider that nice canvas sling for 42 now.

Personally I would stick to the Federal model leather sling but that's just me. I do both sides so things like that I try to make them as versatile as possible.

This is what I believe is a very good correct Pattern of 1839 Musket Sling repro sling from C&D Jarnagin:

Note the part where the hook is, it isn't tapered like the later sling for the M1855 and later.

I swore they used to make a variety of slings for the M1841 & M1861... must be getting old.
