The cemetery is owned by the Sons of Confederate Veterans. They have restored the original graves of the residences in the area that were buried there before the war. In the process of doing the restorations, they found a few interesting items. One of them happened to be a intact Spencer round that was found in the rubble of one of the graves. I must say that that did a wonderful job. If you are on I 24 traveling to or from Nashville to Chattanooga, it is a nice rest stop at the 97 mile marker. There are several markers that relate to the battle of Hoovers Gap which took place at the site of the cemetery. There is a picnic shelter and restrooms.
