Wanting to find information on Civil War happenings at Beaver's Ferry, AR now known as Beaver.
I am a descendant of Squire Wilson Asbury Beaver who founded the village on the White River in NW Arkansas. I've heard numerous times that his log cabin was used as a hospital for wounded from Pea Ridge. Sterling Price supposedly visited at some point. Unfortunately his cabin was burned by the Corps of Engineers about 1963 when they were building Beaver Dam.
Can find no evidence of this, just hearsay and family legends. Also wanting to find info on William C. Beaver who was hanged by "bushwhackers" at Beaver. Any help will be appreciated! Thank you in advance.
