Can someone provide me a copy of P.G.T. Beauregard's Special Orders No.55. It assigns T.G. Holmes to Torpedo Boat duty, and I assume others as well. I have searched high and low and cannot find anything. Also, if possible can you provide a source for the Special Order. Thank you.

Are we talking about one of the Charleston boats or could it be for Savannah?

Charleston. I believe Holmes was attached to a David-class torpedo boat belonging to the Southern Torpedo Company. Beauregard's Special Orders No.55, presumably issued in late February or March of 1864, assigns him (and presumably others) to duty.
The uncited reference to the assignment is attached for clarity.

Hi Danny, Thanks for the suggestions. I was in Washington a few months ago and spent several weeks in the Nat Archives, Lib of Congress, and a host of other small archives and museums... found nothing.
