Can I just say that I hate these photo contests?

Not the pictures themselves, I love those.

Rather, it's the fact that time and time again I see great photos of places I'd love to visit BUT THERE'S NO INFO ON WHERE THE HECK IT IS.

Is there some, like, rule or something that demands this be kept a mystery?

Or is it just that all the cool kids recognize all the scenes and I'm the only one who often doesn't recognize them. Maybe everyone is now laughing at the poor slob who knows so little. If so, fine. But honestly, aside from all the myriad Gettysburg shots, a lot of them could be from100 places, from Mississippi to Virginia and anyplace in between.

You may look in the accepting photos thread for more descriptions of where the photos are taken. I try to remember to post the link, but I'm only human.

Perhaps if someone thinks they can do a better job they could step up to run the contest.

So many photos, all excellent! For me, though, this time, one photo just grabbed my heart. I didn't even need to know where it is (although it grabbed even harder when I looked it up). So, for a change, no coin flips this month, and a purely emotional decision.

I'm not sure if we voted for the same photo, @MaryDee and @dlavin, but I had a similar reaction. My compliments to all of the photographers and especially to the one who shot the photo I voted for. This is one of the few times I've managed to vote without having to review the pictures at least three times.
