I was looking for pictures of an ancestor, so I put a known image in Google Lens, and it returned this. I seem to be a bit face-blind, but I'm not sure that they're really the same person. I'd very much appreciate it if anyone could comment on the matter. The man with the chevrons is Sgt. George Washington Lewis; he was in the 24th and 18th OVVI. Promoted corporal early '65; appointed sergeant late '65. The older gentleman is also Sgt. Lewis.

Looks like a different person to me. Despite some similarities, the eyes are slightly wider, and the corners of the mouth slightly more upturned. Unless there was some further identifying information along with the middle photo, I would assume it was a different person.

The give-away is the length of the face and jaw structure. You ancestor has a well proportioned face, whereas the Google image portrays a man with a round face. IMHO….
Thanks for your input! I've never seen anyone who looked like him before, so I thought I'd better get a second opinion. Superficially, I was also concerned by the brass on his hat. I don't know of any image that portrays Sgt. Lewis with brass.
