Anyone here from Minnesota?

My family was involved in the Sioux Uprising August 1862. I'd like to know more if anyone has info on that. Also, my great, great grandmother was captured in Renville county along with her 4 month old baby. Her name was Wilhelmina Ihnenfeldt, I've seen it spelled different ways. Any info would be appreciated. Her entire family was killed. Her father was John Zitzlaff.
Wilhelmina (Minnie) married Frederick Grose (sp), one of the infantrymen who rescued her and baby Bertha at Camp Release, near Montevideo, MN.

Welcome to the forum Linda Harden.

There are numerous books published on the Sioux Uprising of 1862 and these should get you started.

Welcome from Minnesota and the Twin cities. 3rd Minnesota was involved in much of this and then was sent south to Arkansas to serve alongside my ancestor.
