The U.S. Army has officially transferred the weapons in the Springfield Armory over to the National Parks Service. I wonder if this will change anything. We probably have some forum members who like how the U.S. Army runs thing and some members who like the NPS.

So will the transfer allow additional viewing or lint viewing?
Does anyone know the NPS plans for the weapons?

"The agreement does not change the Armory site, and tourists going there will not notice a change in the slightest. But it does resolve the issue of ownership that over the past 40 years had been described as somewhat hazy"

One great place to visit to get a sample of many otherwise unseen arms. If you get to visit make arrangements to take the upstairs tour, as it has much more to see. Haven't been in a couple of years so don't know if still available.

One of the best place to see rare weapons is the West Point Museum. The real rare stuff is kept locked in an arms vault. Only a lucky few get to visit the arms vault.
