A couple of weeks ago, I posted that Family Search had updated their record search tool.

Well, I guess Ancestry.com just escalated the genealogical arms race. :cannon::cannon::cannon::D:laugh::roflmao::rofl:

They're touting new Thrulines that tie DNA results to your family tree, as well as new tagging features and improved messaging.

I haven't done the DNA testing, so that doesn't do me any good, but the tagging features appeal to my inner librarian. :)

Anyway, check it out and report back!

I think this started about a month or so ago. I like it. Easier to make notes on individuals and created some new areas to explore when it's attached to your DNA account.

Very cool! I haven't been on there in awhile (just super busy) and just got an email about it today. Maybe it was a gentle hint from them I needed to come back. :giggle:

Well, I think it was in Beta until the email today (I got one too, along with my renewal notice). So it may be new to the general public. I used DNA circles often, but I do like the Thrulines. Just need to get use to reading/understanding it better.

Haven't really been on Ancestry a great deal lately, but a noticed another change. It says Beta at the top of the page so I'm not sure if everyone has it yet.

On hints there are Quick Compares button you can toggle on to see info on our tree compared to the hint. That way you don't have to click the hint or load the document to view the info.

Thanks for the update! :)
