Good evening, I have had difficulties researching my last name which is Sorah. I have cross referenced various spellings and other minor changes. I have hit a dead end with a Josiah Sorey in Washington Virginia and cannot get further. Any tips?

It'd help if you gave us birth and death date, as well as the family line (kids, parents etc) you're interested in. Odd last names or commonly misspelled/spelled differently are a bit of a hassle but not impossible

You might be able to use the "Family Trees" search option for him or his descendants to try and find out if someone has gotten any further than you.

Someone has a profile on him that goes further, I can't attest to the accuracy of it but here it is: Andrew Soary

That last name is all over the place, I've ran into that researching a few people - it always manages to be a bit of a pain.

Thank you, it does seem to be a very difficult name to track down.
