Ancestors

Hi all
How many of you have ancestors who were in the Civil War.
Do you have information on them.
Could you imagine getting this information published on my site.

Why do I do this.
I think that this story is important to preserve.

I started my site 2006
My goal is to get as much information as possible with the help of writers who register for the site.

I think it's easiest if you look after themselves, site is so big (4700 pages) with about a dozen active writers and some 700 members.
The site has various functions for the members.

I admit I have a bit of trouble with the title of your website. It makes me think your writers are taking factual history and expanding it into the fantasy area, which is fine if that's what you're going after and are open about it, but it's not where I want my ancestors' stories.

From the very beginning was not my thought that the website would be so great as it is today.
Now it's too late to the renamed domain.
It is sad that you feel that way just because of one name

It appears that your site is relatively young? I see only one Virginia regiment 1st VA CSA and no Tennessee US regiments if I'm looking correctly. All in all it appears that much work has gone into this and I see a couple of 'our' folks, good ones by the way, have been there a while. I do have some articles on my individual ancestors and their roles in the war. I'm interested. Right now I have a bit much going on, but I'll see what we can do.

My info is too extensive for this system. On each ancestor usually 5-10 pages Word documents. I would go through your system after I've signed on or if you wish to review any of this we could use private e-mail? I can pm my e-mail address if you wish.

What I was writing is that the limits of space on private mail on this forum won't hold files that size.

It is really a great job you have done Larry.
I will post everything on the same page as before, it will look like a library with all your articles.
This is what I want people to understand that you have to pass on.
The first article I posted yesterday Larry has already been read of a little over 450 people
