Alfred Day, Co.I, Cockes Regt. Arkansas Infantry. What can you tell me about him.

Records at Fold3 indicate he enlisted December 28, 1863 for 3 years or the War. Oddly, his records also show a start date of June 19, 1862. One record says "joined from desertion" without further explanation. There are other records from Arkansas for an Alfred Day - it may be he was in a prior unit. But I can't be sure. Do you have any other information about him?
