Howdy folks-

I was at the Georgia Capitol this morning and got to meet Governor Kemp. While I was there, I snapped this photo of Alexander Stephens.

Years ago, my parents and I took a trip to Atlanta and visited the state capitol. I remember passing by the portraits of Georgia governors and staring in awe at the portrait of Lee - "The Man Himself," as we call him.

I snapped some other pics of Howell Cobb, 40th Governor of Georgia, briefly head of the Confederate government, and then general in the rebel army. If it had t been for the war, he'd more than likely have been President, but now most folks have very little idea who the heck he was.

Crawford Long— discoverer of anesthetic ether and roomie of young Alexander Stephens at the University of Georgia

Charles Jenkins- I think father of Micah and John Jenkins, two young Confederate officers. Micah was killed, John survived.

It was chaos- it was refugee day, so there were hundreds if not thousands of folks there like ants, so I couldn't just wander around staring at stuff like I really would have liked.
