In this month's "The Kentucky Explorer magazine", there was short article on Abraham Lincoln's First School. There is a Kentucky history marker commemorating this spot. The school was located 2 to 3 miles from the Lincoln family's Knob Creek farm in Kentucky. His first teacher was Zachariah Riney. Lincoln attended this school with his sister, Sarah.

This is on Ky. marker #1482.The plaque commemorating this event reads:

"Lincoln's formal education began in a primitive log cabin, near this site. While the Lincoln family was living on Knob Creek; he and his sister Sarah attended ABC schools for a short period of time. First school taught by Zachariah Riney; the second by Caleb Hazel. The Lincoln's home stood 2 miles south of the old Cumberland Road."
